Nubisor AB · Nautical Logbook
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Nautical Logbook handles information when you use the iPhone app and this public website.
Last updated: 2 October 2026
1. Who operates Nautical Logbook
Nautical Logbook is operated by Nubisor AB, Sweden. Privacy and support questions can be sent to nauticallogbook@nubisor.se.
2. Information stored in the app
Nautical Logbook can store information you choose to add to your logbook, including:
- date and time;
- latitude and longitude;
- route tags;
- weather, wind, course and speed;
- notes and observations;
- photos you choose to add to an entry; and
- app settings such as boat name, boat image, home-marina position and theme.
3. Local storage
The current version stores logbook entries and app settings locally on your iPhone. Logbook data is not synchronized to a Nubisor AB cloud backend and Nautical Logbook does not require a user account.
Boat images and generated PDF files are also stored locally as part of the app's normal file handling. Removing the app can remove locally stored app data unless you have kept your own exported copies or device backup.
4. Location information
Nautical Logbook can use Apple's Core Location services when you grant location permission. Location is used to show your current position and to help fill latitude, longitude, speed and course in log entries.
You can deny or change location permission in iOS Settings. You can also enter position information manually.
5. Photos
You may choose photos from your device or capture photos for a log entry. Nautical Logbook only uses photos you select or capture for this purpose. A log entry can contain up to five photos in the current implementation.
6. Maps and third-party services
Nautical Logbook can display map tiles from OpenStreetMap and OpenSeaMap. When those maps are displayed, requests are sent to the relevant third-party map service. Those services may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and requested map tile coordinates under their own privacy terms.
7. Analytics, advertising and tracking
The current Nautical Logbook implementation does not include advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Nubisor AB does not sell your logbook data or use it for advertising.
8. PDF export and sharing
When you export or share a PDF, you choose where that file is sent or stored using the iOS sharing options available on your device. Any destination you choose may process the exported file under its own privacy terms.
9. Support communications
If you email support, Nubisor AB receives the email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send. This information is used to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue.
10. Data deletion
Because the current logbook is stored locally, you control the entries and files on your device. You can delete individual log entries in the app. Removing the app removes its locally stored application data, subject to any device backups or exported copies you have created.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Nautical Logbook features, storage or third-party services change. The current version and revision date will be published on this page.
